Troop 635 in Baltimore, Maryland

We are Baltimore City's First Scouting America Troop for Girls!

How to Join Troop 635

  • Please see the Troop 635 Home Page more about our Scouting vision and background.  Also, check out the Troop 635 Family Handbook.  This includes everything a new (or existing) family needs to know about Troop 635.
  • Take a look at photos from recent campouts and events at: Recent Troop 635 Activities
  • Scouts (and adult volunteers who plan on participating) need to register through Scouting America to join Troop 635.  Follow this link to sign up:  Join Troop 635 through Scouting America.  There is a fee for each application.  Additionally, a background check is part of the adult application process.
  • An account on Scouting America’s web site is required.  The registration process will create an account, or one can be created before registration at MyScouting.  Note that scouts and adults will have their own accounts and logins.
  • With a Scouting.org login, check out Scoutbook Plus.  This site provides a scout Advancement Tracking and Activity Logging.  Adults can also use ScoutBook with its features for guardians and troop roles they may undertake.
  • To serve as an adult volunteer or participate in scouting events, the completion of a Safeguarding Youth training course is required.  Also called Youth Protection Training (YPT).  Safety of all is the number one goal of Scouting America, and all leaders take this training before they can be fully registered.  Use your Scouting.org login and access the course here:  Scouting America Safeguarding Youth Course.
  • Scouting Health Form.  Scouts and participating adults need to fill out Parts A&B.  Part C is required for events lasting longer than 72 hours.  Find the form here: Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record

Part A: Informed Consent, Release Agreement, and Authorization

Part B: General Information/Health History

Part C: Pre-Participation Physical

Note: Please provide a printed copy of the completed form to the Scoutmaster.  The Troop’s medical forms are brought to all activities.

  • Once your Scouting application has been completed, you’ll receive signup links to join TroopTrack and Slack.  TroopTrack is a great resource for T635’s calendars, photos, and documents.  Slack is another tool T635 uses to communicate with each other or groups and receive general information.  YPT principles apply here as Direct Messages (DMs) are part of this platform. See: TroopTrack & Slack Explained.
  • Note: Troop 635 Scouts have a wide range of ages, and have differing access to computers, phones, and social media.  With Scouting.Org, TroopTrack and Slack, scouts can employ these tools, or an adult can manage or co-manage communication with the troop.
  • Finally, a new scout will need a uniform!  See: Troop 635 Uniform Info
